Opening this Weekend: Bangkok Dangerous

So what's on the slate for new movies this weekend? If you survived the long weekend's weak entries, the first one up on the block is a new Nicolas Cage movie, "Bangkok Dangerous". It's an action thriller which is based on directors Oxide Pang and Danny Pang's successful Hong Kong film of the same name.

Cage plays a ruthless hitman who travels to Thailand to complete a series of contract killings, but whose life takes an unexpected turn when he gets caught up in Bangkok's intriguing rhythm. With a screenplay written by Jason Richman, the Pang brothers paint an explosive picture of the Bangkok underworld, illuminated with neon and saturated in violence.

Disaster Movie Open this Weekend

Expected to be in the battle for the top box office spot this weekend, is the latest spoof movie from Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer ("Scary Movie," "Date Movie," "Epic Movie"), "Disaster Movie" just six months after their last movie "Meet the Spartans".

With a cast that includes Matt Lanter, Vanessa Minnillo, Carmen Electra and Kim Kardashian, the movie lampoons, obviously, the disaster movie genre and follows a group of ridiculously attractive twenty-somethings during one fateful night as every known natural disaster and catastrophic event hits their city.
