With the success of Iron Man this year, there was no question there would be a sequel in the offing. The question was whether director Jon Favreau could reach a deal for the second movie. Apparently, according to Nikki Finkel at Deadline Hollywood Daily, the two camps have reached a deal for Favreau to helm the sequel, after Marvel offered him a "definitely" richer offer.
With a tentative release date of April 30, 2010, it remains to be seen if that date might cause a conflict with star Robert Downey Jr.'s schedule, as he has just signed up for a Warner Brothers Warner's Sherlock Holmes movie.
