Kit Kittredge: An American Girl Movie Poster
Opening in limited release today, with a wide release set for July 2, 2008 is "Kit Kittredge: An American Girl" which stars Abigail Breslin in the title role of a young aspiring reporter who uncovers a crime plot right in her neighborhood. The film is based on the popular series of children's books by Valerie Tripp.
One early review from Reuters/Hollywood Reporter, says it's "Refreshingly sincere and full of wholesome can-do spirit, the first big-screen incarnation of the American Girl doll-and-book series -- the anti-Bratz of collectibles -- offers solid, kid-friendly storytelling." The movie also stars Stanley Tucci, Glenne Headly, Jane Krakowski and Julia Ormond - with Julia Roberts credited as one of the producers.
